Why should I hire a running coach?
Whether you are new to running or an experienced runner, a coach can get you to your goals. There are thousands of training plans online that you could download, but by hiring a coach through Motivated in Motion you receive a more intimate and tailored training approach from a qualified professional. Life throws us curveballs such as injuries or busy schedules. Having a running coach helps ease the difficulties of scheduling your workouts and safely building up your mileage.

What distances has my coach ran?
Coach Janelle has ran so many races she's lost track of most of them over the years. She's done countless 5km, 10km and half marathons and has ran two marathons. In 2023 she is looking to add her first 50km trail ultra to the list of accomplishments.
What distances do you coach?
Motivated in Motion is here to coach you to any distance you are looking to achieve from 5km to 50km. Whether you are looking to begin your running journey with a couch to 5km training plan or you are ready to go after that Boston Qualifier, we are here to motivate you to get started on those goals.
Do I need to be a runner already to sign up?
Definitely not! We welcome all levels of ability at all ages. Motivated in Motion will tailor your training program to fit where you are at in your journey and adapt as you do.
Do I need any fancy gear like a watch?
For the most part, running is an inexpensive sport. To sync your workouts with your Training Peaks Premium account you will require a smart device such as a Garmin, Suunto, Coros or even an Apple watch. There are lots of compatible devices you can find on their website.
As for other gear, ideally you'll have good fitting running shoes and some athletic wear. You don't need to rush out and purchase the most expensive gear but sports wear is recommended.
What is TrainingPeaks?
TrainingPeaks is a centralized hub that lets your coach plan, track and analyze all of your training in one place. You'll be able to leave your coach feedback after each workout so that they can tailor your plan to your evolving needs. You will also be able to set your goals and track your progress towards them.
Where is my coach located?
Coach Janelle is located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. But keep in mind that this is virtual run coaching and you can be coached from anywhere.
Can I purchase for a friend?
Yes! If you wish to purchase any of our programs for a friend, send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know which option you wish to purchase and we can work out the details to deliver your gift.
If you wish to purchase gear for a friend, simply shop through our store and we can even deliver to them directly.
How do I pay for coaching?
One on One Coaching:
Every month you will receive an invoice with the option to pay via credit card, apple pay or etransfer, which ever suits your needs.
Purchase a Plan:
Once you confirm you are ready to purchase a one time tailored plan you will receive an invoice from Motivated in Motion where you can pay via credit card, apple pay or etransfer.
Bonus: Have a health spending account? Our coach is a certified professional so you can claim your coaching expense under a health spending account.
Do you offer discounts?
If you commit to a full year of one on one coaching you will receive a 10% discount on the monthly rate.
